The Process

The first step undertaken in order to create my portraits is the gathering of Nespresso Capsules. Indeed, that requires hundreds and hundreds of them, one can imagine that I had to create a wide network of friends in order to gather them…yes I did not drink them all to myself…

Once I am in possession of them, I have to open them, empty them out, crush them to flatten them and finally sort them out by color for organization purposes. My current portrait consists of about 700 to 1000 capsules.

The longest process of my art has then been undergone and I can start my work as an artist.

Once I am done, they are given to O. Haligon Fine Art Studio where they spray a clear coat, which solidifies the capsules while strengthening their shiny aspect.
